It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to The GreenPlan.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life and wellbeing on Earth for present and future generations by empowering your community to tackle climate change.
I often think of the phrase ‘the power of one’ and I think of how many times people have thought to themselves ‘what can I do’ or ‘can I make a difference’. The GreenPlan on ChangeX is a terrific opportunity for the individual to put a team together and for that team to take relatively easy actions that all join up to reduce emissions. The more communities that join up, the faster we can see real measurable impact and results.
I will be keeping in touch with all The GreenPlan Communities on ChangeX – so look out for regular updates.

Hi all one of our volunteers (Marie) recycled a whopping 50 aluminium cans today from a litter pick! @Dearbhla how much do these weigh per unit etc?!? Would be great if we could include. 4 of us did a pick on the Mill Rd to red pats cross. Marie kids helped with the recycling!!!!
That’s brilliant Marie & Jonathan & the two little helpers. I calculate 16g per can, so 800g of aluminium recycled. I will of course add this in to our total. Recycling aluminium takes 95% less energy than creating cans from new raw materials, so it saves a massive amount of energy as well as preventing unnecessary littering. Well done all.
In the last week of December 2023 (23-31/12/23), Enniscorthy Tidy Towns volunteers collected & recycled from numerous litter picks during the Christmas holiday:
564 cans
273 plastic bottles
99 plastic cups
73 glass bottles
44 vapes
15 bags of rubbish.
Well done. Massive!
Jonathan from Enniscorthy Tidy Towns entered a photo from our Slaney Kayak & Cleanup event in September for a Wexford Volunteer photo competition for their community calendar. The photo won a place in the calendar & we won a €50 one4all voucher & a framed photo & certificate. Siobhán & I collected the prize at an award ceremony in Wexford on 8 December. Well done to Jonathan for entering the competition & thanks to everyone who voted for our photo.
Enniscorthy Tidy Towns volunteers have collected & recycled 692 aluminium cans, 170 plastic bottles, 20 glass bottles & 25 vapes from multiple litter picks every weekend since 26/11/2023. Well done all. With the new deposit return scheme (DRS) in 2024 this would be worth about €130! Fingers crossed the DRS will reduce littering of these recyclables in 2024.
On day trip to Dublin… left the car at home. On the fabulous Wexford Bus… lovely journey. Saving 272 km in diesel. Saving in excess of €20 in parking charges. Double win!
We’re delighted to have a lovely, professional short video showcasing The GreenPlan on ChangeX for which Sustainable Enniscorthy won its #KeepWexfordBeautiful environmental award recently from Wexford County Council. Watch it on https://youtu.be/fY_6gQ2tkko?si=1eKTE8NdqrWGK9EM
Enniscorthy Tidy Towns volunteers Phil & Seán collected & recycled the following from 3 litter picks over 3 days, 19, 20, 21 November after a large local funeral. 82 cans, 50 plastic bottles, 16 glass bottles, 21 cigarette boxes & 6 vapes. Well done Phil & Seán.
