GIY Tramore is kicking off the New Year with a meeting devoted to Ireland’s favourite veggie – the humble spud. March is traditionally the month for sowing potatoes, so now is a good time to start thinking about what varieties to buy and how to get ready for planting. For complete beginners, the meeting will give advice on how to get started and how even in very small spaces it’s possible to grow some delicious spuds, while seasoned growers will have an opportunity to discuss their different techniques and ways of combatting problems.
GIY meetings are open to all, there is no membership fee and people are welcome to drop in with no formal commitment.
This month’s meeting takes place on Wednesday, 16th January at 7.30pm in Ocean View House, Tramore,
