A Teachmeet is an organised but informal meeting for educators to share ideas and exchange experience. Teachmeet promotes the celebration of teaching excellence while nurturing the passion and enthusiasm many teachers share with their students behind closed doors. Participants are offered a variety of nano (2 minute) or macro (7 minute) presentations on any aspect of education. Participants can be actively involved as presenters, or can simply relax and listen to all that's on offer. All presentations are delivered by those currently working in education – teachers, principals, SNAs, language specialists, librarians, student teachers, IT technicians, 3rd level coordinators and many more. Presenters are encouraged to talk about a tool, technique or lesson they've tried themselves and they want to share with others. Presentation topics are registered in advance but the order of speakers is selected at random on the night. A Teachmeet can be organised anywhere – in your staffroom, between local schools or in your local education centre.
