#MapMyDay #Dublin
Let's make Dublin more accessible for mobility-impaired people and share information about the accessible places in the city and raise awareness for the topic.
How? With the help of the Wheelmap and a Mapping Day. Wheelmap is an app that empowers anyone to find accessible places like restaurants, concert venues or cinemas in your community. With a web and mobile app and an easy to use traffic light system, you can mark places on the map and add information about the accessibility of that place.
Mapping Day
To make it more fun: We organise a Mapping Day here in Dublin. We get together for a couple of hours and map as many locations as possible in that time. That means: the more people join, the more groups can go out and the more locations we'll be able to map. And if we enjoy it, we just do it again.
At the end of the 1-2 hours of mapping we'll get together and celebrate our mapped locations with a beer or Coke.
When? The first event will be on April 8, from 4pm. Please join this page stay in the loop on our plans.
Where? Meeting point will be Dogpatch Labs, an office space in the CHQ Building. The entrance is at the back of the CHQ Building, oppositive of Starbucks.
Then we'll go out in groups and map locations in different areas.
How can you help?
Help is most welcome in organising, getting the word out, finding sponsors, taking pictures, bringing more people on board, designing a flyer, just write me a message and let me know what you'd be interested in doing.
Everyone can start mapping today.
