Bridging the digital divide and making coding accessible to learners without the need for computers or electricity, fostering future tech innovators.
Tangible Africa was born out of a desire to bridge the digital divide and equip young learners with essential skills in computational thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. Recognizing that many schools across Africa lack reliable access to computers and the internet, we developed an innovative offline coding approach that removes these technological barriers. Our goal is to make coding accessible to all, enabling learners to acquire foundational skills for the digital world, regardless of their environment.
Using physical coding kits, engaging game-based learning, and a comprehensive curriculum, Tangible Africa's solution is both adaptable and impactful. By employing hands-on materials and structured lessons, facilitators can introduce learners to coding concepts without requiring any prior technical knowledge.
The impact of Tangible Africa has been remarkable, with 125 000 children now engaged in learning valuable skills. The innovation has garnered interest globally, and our annual international tournaments foster a competitive yet collaborative environment where students can challenge peers worldwide. This initiative not only enhances their technical skills but also empowers them to envision a future where they can thrive in a digital economy.
