The Wheelmap empowers mobility-impaired people to find accessible places like restaurants, concert venues or cinemas in your community. With a web and mobile app and an easy to use traffic light system, you can mark places on the map and add information about the accessibility of that place.
How to get involved: Bring friends or colleagues together and organise a Mapping Day where you split up in small groups and go for a walk in your community to map as many locations as possible in one day. Find out exactly how it works here or just register your interest to start your mapping event.
Wheelmap.org is the world’s largest database of information on wheelchair accessibility with over 500,000 places mapped worldwide, and about 300 new places are being marked every day. Wheelmap launched a campaign on December 3rd 2015 called MapMyDay to accelerate its global movement to get people moving more freely and sharing knowledge about the accessibility of places.
Can we map the accessibility of all places in Ireland together?
