Budget: We will need to buy small succulents, containers, and jiffy pods. $200
Impact: Every year we distribute free trees from UPS for Earth Day. However there are kids that didn't have a yard or space to plant their tree, so we'd like to provide a succulent for them to care for.
Location: Tuff's Ranch, 5055 S County Road 137, Bennett, CO 80102 will be the headquarters for the project. Distribution will take place at the Anythink Library in Bennett
Tuff will head up the project
Other homeschool kids in the area will help plant and distribute the plants.
As you all know, not every child has the luxury of a yard to nurture their own tree, especially those living in apartments, condos, or densely urbanized areas. That's why we've been working on developing an Indoor Plant Program!
Neighborhood Forest’s Indoor Plant Program is designed to engage youth without access to a yard by giving them a little piece of nature to care for and watch grow inside of their homes. Indoor plants provide many similar benefits as trees including - purifying the air, improving health and well-being, enhancing concentration/focus and more!
This spring, we're excited to unveil our Indoor Plant program in collaboration with Nickelodeon and ChangeX, through a youth-led initiative aimed at providing free succulents to children in need!
So lovely! Thank you for sharing!!
