Team Meetings:
The team will meet once a week throughout the planning and implementation phase. These meetings will allow us to discuss progress, address challenges, and allocate tasks among team members.
Budget:
Impact:
The pantry will serve as a resource for community members experiencing food insecurity, ensuring they have access to non-perishable food items. The project will bring the community together, promoting empathy, generosity, and a sense of shared responsibility. By addressing the issue of food insecurity locally, we hope to increase awareness about this issue and encourage conversations about how we can collectively address it.
Measurable Goals:
Location:
The Little Free Pantry will be located at the Crisis Assistance Ministry in west Gastonia.
Involvement of the Kid Leader:
The kid leader has been actively involved in the planning of the project so far. They have participated in the initial planning meeting, provided input on the design, and assisted in researching materials and supplies needed. The kid leader will help promote the project within the center and community, spreading awareness and generating interest among other kids.
Involvement of Kids in Design and Activation:
To facilitate children’s involvement, we plan to organize a design workshop specifically for kids. During this workshop, they will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, create sketches, and offer suggestions for the Little Free Pantry's design. Additionally, kids will be encouraged to participate in the pantry's activation by organizing donation drives, helping with the installation, and volunteering to restock the pantry regularly. Their active involvement will instill a sense of ownership and pride in the project, fostering their leadership skills and community engagement.
