#MapMyDay #RosslareStrand
Let's make Rosslare Strand more accessible for mobility-impaired people and share information about the accessible places in the village and raise awareness for the topic.
How? With the help of the Wheelmap and a Mapping Day. Wheelmap is an app that helps anyone to find accessible places like restaurants, community centres or beaches in your community. With a web and mobile app and an easy to use traffic light system, you can mark places on the map and add information about the accessibility of that place.
WHAT YOU CAN DO: download the free app, register, mark the places on the map according to how wheelchair (mobility aid, stroller) friendly they are, shouldn't take more than a couple of hours.
Mapping Day
To make it more fun: We organise a Mapping Day. We get together for a couple of hours and map as many locations as possible in that time. That means: the more people join, the more groups can go out and the more locations we'll be able to map. And if we enjoy it, we just do it again.
At the end of the 1-2 hours of mapping we'll get together and celebrate our mapped locations with a cup of tea or coffee.
When? Whenever it suits most people. Please join this page stay in the loop on our plans.
Where? Meeting point will be Community Centre.
Then we'll go out in groups and map locations in different areas.
How can you help?
Help is most welcome in organising, getting the word out, taking pictures, bringing more people on board, just write me a message and let me know what you'd be interested in doing.
Everyone can start mapping today.

I'm not disabled by my wheelchair but by stairs. I want to give everyone the freedom and information they need to move around easily. We're building a global movement for a more inclusive society, join us!
