In addition to being awarded funding, every applicant that applies to start or expand an idea in their community will receive a range of supports including:

• Free tech tools & website to help get your project started and manage your group


• Advice & support via email and Zoom

The AWS Community Builders Fund is open to nonprofit organizations to start new projects, or expand an existing project, in their community.

The project must deliver educational experiences or events in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math (STEAM) and/or environmental stewardship.

Eligible organizations must support greater access and equity for youth and families in Central Ohio. 

The project must take place in one or more of the following Counties in Ohio including: Franklin, Union, Delaware, Marion, Morrow, Crawford, Pickaway, Licking, Madison, Logan, Knox, Fairfield. 

There is a total fund of $25,000 available to help support communities to start a new project or expand an existing project. Each applicant who successfully completes a 30 Day Challenge and an Impact Challenge will receive funding to help get their selected project off the ground.

For existing projects, there will be an initial review process, and those applications that best fit the criteria will be allocated funding and entered into an abbreviated 30 Day Challenge process which includes reading about the impact reporting requirements & entering bank details.
