It is estimated that it will take you about 2 months to plan the festival with your team, including outreach and curating activities for your interactive showcase. Once your event planning is done, you'll start inviting people who will exhibit or present their work so that they can also get everything organized for their participation. Good planning and mobilization of people can make all the difference to the success of your festival!


The primary goal of the Festivals of Invention and Creativity (FICs)is to provide engaging and hands-on learning experiences that promote Creative Learning in schools and other educational settings. These festivals aim to encourage the sharing of best practices and discussions on key topics related to Creative Learning, such as student engagement, classroom organization, use of technology, and professional development.

The FICs also aim to recognize innovative educators who bring together schools and communities, inspiring them to try new ideas in their classrooms. These events offer excellent opportunities for training all professionals in the education field and empowering children and young people to showcase their work.

In essence, the FICs are celebrations that acknowledge, inspire, and connect individuals and initiatives focused on Creative Learning within their communities, whether in schools or other non-school spaces. The festivals do not have awards for the presented works; they are meant to foster collaboration and celebration rather than competition.

Now that you've been inspired by previous FIC editions, let's envision what the FIC could look like in your own community. Our guides and support materials can assist you in reflecting on various aspects of organizing your event. The first step is to define your target audience and the activities you want to offer.

The heart of the FIC is the Interactive Show, a hands-on fair where students and educators can explore materials, tools, and practices while engaging in conversations with others who share an interest in Creative Learning. It is common and beneficial for projects to be showcased by their creators, including the children and young people involved. Alongside the interactive works, the show always features a hands-on corner where visitors can freely experiment and create using open materials like paper, pens, glue, cardboard boxes, and recyclables.

In addition to the Interactive Show, the FIC can include other activities related to Creative Learning, such as workshops and pedagogical discussions. These opportunities foster interaction among participants and serve as a platform for presenting their work, as well as engaging the wider community.

How to take advantage of the mobilization of the event to strengthen Creative Learning in your community?


Now that you have your FIC vision, it's time to dive into the planning process!

Firstly, remember that organizing a FIC is a collaborative effort. Form a team where each person takes on a specific role and determine how often you'll meet to discuss event organization. It's crucial to involve everyone and mobilize your partners and collaborators throughout the entire process.

Next, choose the date and location for the event and consider the necessary resources:

  • Assess the materials and infrastructure required based on the available space.
  • Determine the number of people, in addition to the organizing team, who will need to be involved and assigned specific functions.
  • Evaluate whether your organization already has the necessary resources (both human and material), or if you need to seek partnerships with other organizations. Identify potential partners who could contribute to your event.

To attract attendees to your FIC, it's crucial to promote the event through various channels, including a website and social media platforms. You can easily create and publish your FIC's website on our portal, ensuring that the information reaches a wide audience. In our e-book, you'll find artwork and resources to help you create personalized promotional materials for your event.

For the Interactive Showcase, community mobilization is essential. Engage the community to identify projects that align with Creative Learning, are hands-on, promote creativity, have a meaningful educational purpose, and preferably encourage visitor interaction. To ensure a diverse and high-quality exhibition, you can invite specific individuals or organizations to participate, or even have an open call for project registrations. Curate the submitted projects to create a compelling program for your event.


Once your festival is concluded, it's important to share the event's outcomes with the broader community. You can achieve this by posting updates on your own social media accounts, as well as publishing on the wall of the Rede Brasileira de Aprendizagem Criativaportal and your FIC's website on the portal. These spaces serve as a showcase for your event and provide a means of documentation.

Furthermore, it's crucial to internally reflect with your team on the event's success and systematically gather all relevant information. Celebrate by sharing the achieved results with partners and supporters. Register the details on your FIC page on the portal, such as the number of participants, resources utilized, reflections and lessons learned by the organizing team, and links to photo albums and materials used. This step is vital as the data and information collected from the event will contribute to the collective learning process and can inform the organization of future FIC editions. Access your FIC's website on the portal and document the results of your event.

Lastly, evaluate your event using the green (what worked well), yellow (what can be improved in future editions), and red (what didn't work and should be avoided) system. This assessment will aid in identifying areas of success and areas that require improvement for future events.
