Keep Sweden Tidy Day will take place the third Saturday in September every year. On this day, we will gather the whole of Sweden, north to south, old and young, and pick up all the litter we see. Together we are a movement that is tired of litter in our communities and takes matters into our own hands - literally!
Between now and then, you can begin arranging litter picking events in your local community and get funding through the Microsoft Community Challenge to help you get started. Then, in September, you can then join the whole country, for Keep Sweden Tidy Day!
When you register for the Keep Sweden Tidy Day, Keep Sweden Tidy (registration opens in August). Why it Matters
Littering harms animals and nature, destroys the oceans, makes cities unsafe and costs society a lot of money - completely unnecessarily. That is why we need to stop littering. You can make a difference both by picking up litter and by sending the message not to litter.
On the same day as Keep Sweden Tidy Day, World Clean-up Day takes place all over the world. Millions of people are participating!
