The Coronavirus has brought new challenges to everyone in Irish society and the autism community is no different. However, some of the challenges experienced may be greater as the world can already be an unpredictable place when you're autistic - now that has been intensified. Many routines that autistic people are used to and find comfort in have now been disrupted and the methods of self regulation many people engage in may have been restricted.
During the next few weeks, we will be radically changing our planned content to adapt to this new situation. We will be putting in place online resources to help with the massive changes in routine, services and social situations during this situation. These resources will be informed through consultation and in the areas of need identified by autistic individuals and their families. You can join this community, access the resources and connect and share with others here. We'll be adding new resources every week and for now, we've added guides on isolating, lockdown, healthcare issues and many more of the issues that we have all faced in recent weeks.
