Welcome to Fáilte Isteach, a community based project where volunteers welcome new communities to the community through conversational English classes. If you'd like to start a class in your local community, here you can find all the information and support you need!
Fáilte Isteach is an innovative community English language project set up by Bray Area Partnership in 2009. The idea is that people from the local community volunteer their time to teach practical conversational English to people from other countries who live and work in the Bray & Greystones Municipal areas. The classes are entirely free and take place in an informal, friendly café style setting through small group conversations over a cup of tea.
The project has been a huge success to date, with learners and tutors alike really enjoying the experience. The benefits for the participants have been many – from the more obvious development of English language and teaching skills to the friendships forged between neighbours from a range of different backgrounds and cultures.
Fáilte Isteach is part of a national initiative run by “Third Age Ireland”, with projects run in a number of communities around the country.
Please note: All new students must register first by contacting Lorna at the Partnership on 01 286 8266, email [email protected]– there is sometimes a short waiting list for places – if you turn up at the classes without registering first you will not be able to take part.
