The Pollinator Plan is about all of us coming together to try to create an Ireland where pollinators can survive and thrive. It aims to ensure the sustainability of our food, avoid additional economic impacts on agriculture, and protect the health of the environment.
It’s a great way to spend time in nature, and is good for both your mental and physical health.
It's a good way to learn about gardening and sharing knowledge.
It's a rewarding way to meet your neighbours and community

The first batch of our beautiful pollinator-friendly planters have arrived - just in time for spring! Eventually there will be one for the roof of each boat in the marina. The planters have a mixture of perennials and wildflowers, all pollinator friendly - salvia, achillea, trailing geranium, day lily, alyssia among others...Very exciting!
The first batch of our pollinator-friendly planters have been designed by community members and are on the way in the next few days! We are so looking forward to seeing them on the roofs of the barges! Photos to come soon....
Exciting news! Spring is here and we have just ordered our first batch of planters with pollinator-friendly plants!! Photos to follow as soon as these arrive and are safely installed on boat roofs!
We had our first meeting outside at Grand Canal Dock on 21st October with some members of the marina community. Our plan is to buy planters with bee-friendly plants (we have made a list from the pollinator site) for the roofs of the boats at the marina of every boat that is happy to take part and committed to taking care of their box (every member of the community will be consulted on this so that no one who wants to take part is left out!). The next step is to talk to our local garden centre, draw up a plan of what is feasible within this budget (size and type of planters and number of plants for each) and when the best time to plant these will be. Then we will buy planters and plants and install them on the roofs of the boats! We are very excited about this project!
