Giant Pumpkins Ireland GIY

We are a group of enthusiastic giant vegetable growers, based in Louth but members are spread throughout Ireland. 

We hope to provide an interactive web site to the giant pumpkin growing community in  Ireland! We would also like to promote the exciting sport/hobby of giant pumpkin and giant squash growing by helping new comers get started.

We host events every year such as our Spring Growers Seminar in March and our Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off to celebrate the harvest come October!

Does anyone know (louth area), where I can actually buy a giant pumpkin/large pumpkin before Halloween? Would greatly appreciate contact numbers etc.!! Thanks, Aoife

Hi guys,
My name is John, I'm from Wexford. Growing my first pumpkins for the kids. Not expecting a giant one or anything. It is fun to grow something in your garden apart from grass.

Hi Guys,

My names Aoife, I'm from County Meath and recently came across this site as I'm looking for advice to grow my own pumpkins. I was wondering if I can use the seeds from the inside of a pumpkin that I bought from a local vegetable shop or will I have to go out and buy seeds? If so recommendations would be kindly accepted, Also as I read that you should avoid frost, and as Ireland is such a cold place should I grow them in a greenhouse to start off? GIANT PUMPKINS IRELAND GIY ANNUAL WEIGH-OFF IS HERE !!

Sunday 7th of October!
Irish Military War Museum , Collon, Meath.

Arrival of Pumpkins no later than 12 noon for inspection.

Weighing commences 1:30pm

Cash Prizes to be won on the day!

Entry fees : Atlantic Giants €10, Field Pumpkins €5
