In conclusion, I felt the project was very successful in our classroom.Children really embraced both the theory and practical side of each lesson.I must commend Suzanne, on the structure of her lessons and the format in which it was displayed. Her videos and graphics used, were all of high interest. The lessons were engaging and moved at a good pace, so being bored was not a problem. Children particularly enjoyed the art element of making the heart and how the blood flows. The live hands was excellent too, very fun and they enjoyed making this. As a teacher,I found the DNA lesson very interesting.Children were very engrossed and engaged,as this is a topic which isn’t covered in depth at primary level.Overall, I feel the programme was a very worth while experience for the children.
Action plan:
Timeline:: We plan to start our project by the begining of February. We will meet twice a week for 5 weeks. We hope to host a guest scientist to our school during this period.
Budget:: We plan to spend the money to promote our whole school Science impovement plan. We will focus on human biology and resources connected to this topic first.
Impact:: The class will learn and develop thier scientific vocab, knowledge and skills. 5th Class are completing this project and they will do pre and post assessments to measure their attainment. We hope to promote Science in our class and throughout our whole school community as a result.
Location:: We will carry this project out on the 5th Class classroom and will use the hall or out door school grounds if needed.
