Designing with Children 動画を見る

Designing with Children is a creative approach to re-imagining cities and communities developed by Play Africa to place children's needs and perspectives at the forefront of community and city development efforts. We have created an open-source toolkit to make this approach widely accessible and replicable, supporting local adaptation and implementation of the "Designing with Children" approach.

With this toolkit and training, educators can effectively engage learners in a co-design process using design thinking. By incorporating learners' ideas, school environments can be transformed into vibrant, child-friendly, and playful spaces. Educators are free to use the Designing with Children approach to develop any child-friendly intervention for a space in their school, while incorporating Play Africa's play-based learning principles.

Co-design Our Designing with Children workshop helps educators engage learners in a co-design process powered by our customized design thinking approach. Design thinking is a problem-solving tool, which through a series of practical exercises and guidance, empowers children to identify and define problems, empathize with others, generate ideas, and prototype innovative solutions.

Interactive play-based learning Play Africa recognizes the minimal access to safe playful learning environments that children in South Africa have and prioritize increasing access to playful and interactive spaces that enable them to play, discover, innovate and connect.
