It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to The GreenPlan.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life and wellbeing on Earth for present and future generations by empowering your community to tackle climate change.
I often think of the phrase ‘the power of one’ and I think of how many times people have thought to themselves ‘what can I do’ or ‘can I make a difference’. The GreenPlan on ChangeX is a terrific opportunity for the individual to put a team together and for that team to take relatively easy actions that all join up to reduce emissions. The more communities that join up, the faster we can see real measurable impact and results.
I will be keeping in touch with all The GreenPlan Communities on ChangeX – so look out for regular updates.

So, we had some bread that was about to go green (not in a good way), plus we had some fresh herbs languishing in the fridge (mint, chives & parsley). Cooked up a few chopped onions, whizzed the bread & herbs, and hey presto, 3 portons of herb stuffing straight to the freezer, awaiting the next Sunday roast chicken!
We donated clothes to charity last weekend (31 items) - bit of sorting happening with the kids home for the summer
We save over 50% of our electricity costs using our 11 solar panels between solar electric usage and microgeneration credit from our energy supplier. Panels installed in Feb 22. Attached are the statistics for energy production and usage in that time.

Great job Marie & Luke & Billy on the Enniscorthy Tidy Towns litter pick this morning. We also collected 35 plastic bottles and I’ll recycle them when I’m in the recycling centre on Thursday for the brown bin caddy distribution event.
12 items of clothing recycled.
Hi all,
I just sent 20 vapes to the recycling centre. Does anyone know if you can include these in the battery recycling?
These were collected from three litter picks.
Also 3 x AA and 1 x AAA batteries.
Thanks Dearbhla. I'll continue to bring them in so. Thanks F for the link to the survey.
I asked WCC Environment Office re. recycling vapes: “My understanding is that all have a battery so they are treated as WEEE so can be taken to one of the household Recycling Centres – no entry fee will apply if only bringing in WEEE.”
FYI Dept of the Environment have launched a public consultation on disposable vapes - it's open until 27 July - see link below https://www.gov.ie/en/press-release/d1c50-minister-smyth-launches-public-consultation-on-disposable-vapes/#:~:text=Commenting%20on%20the%20launch%20of,response%20to%20disposable%20vaping%20products
I'll have a root through Mam's tomorrow evening. She might have some...
Great Irene. That bring our batteries recycled total to 136. Tantalisingly close to the target of 150 batteries. “Anyone for the last few batteries?” 🪫 🪫
