Community veg garden in 4 raised beds was built in 2019 and now produces organic herbs free to the community. New planting of onions, kale, lettuce and carrots, all organically grown, will be ready for harvesting in late summer.
It has been a long time coming, but our Sensory garden is almost ready to be planted. Clearing of rubbish off the the derelict ground was a bigger job than anticipated, but now the top soil has been delivered and it is full steam ahead.
We are delighted to confirm that St. Johns Parish, Hollyfort, have offered us a strip of good quality land to start our GIY Project to encourage adults and children in the area to grow their own food. It is behind the Old School House on the Monaseed Road. Watch this space!
We are looking for people in the area interested in getting their hands dirty! Anyone that wants to get involved in growing vegetables for and with the community, please get in touch.
We are establishing a community vegetable garden on a piece of derelict land in the village. The landowner has given her permission and we are eager to get started by first clearing the area of rubbish and old pieces of machinery!
We need volunteers to help with the Tidy Towns GIY group from clearing the ground, making it vegetable friendly and deciding how the community veg group will work!
