Beech Park Allotments GIY Group Annual Plant and Seed Swap is on on Saturday 24th April and the Annual Family Fin Day and Picnic is on Saturday 4th July
Due to the ongoing restrictions in relation to physical distancing Beech Park Allotments GIY Group a sad to say that the Annual Seed and Plant Swap has had to be cancelled. If any one wants or has spare seeds and plants please contact Adrian Rush Group Co-ordinator on 0876773631. The Annual Family Fun Day and Picnic will be kept under review until closer to the date.
BeechPark Allotments entered the Energia Get Ireland Growing Fund competition earlier this year and were one of the lucky winners. The awards took place on 19th March down at GIY HQ in Waterford and a representative was in attendance; there was a short segment on the Today Show on RTE 1 on Thursday 21st March. The money we are receiving is going to be used to finish off the Wildlife and Pond Garden. The money is going to be used to finish laying the patio, to get some top soil for the raised beds, to get paint to paint the pergola that was put up over the winter and to get a number of plants to put in the raised beds and to grow over the pergola.
This year is a big year for the allotments as they are 10 years old so the BBQ and Family Fun Day is taking on a more significance and importance. The GIY Group is also 5 years old this year.
Beechpark Allotments are 10 years old this year so we are celebrating. On Saturday April 27th we are holding our annual Seed and Plant Swap. On Saturday 6th July we are having our annual Family Fun Day and BBQ. It is hoped to have a general clear up of the area on the previous Saturday.
