Would you like to support people hosting refugees? Or are you a host that would like more people to help you?
Change X and The Open Community have launched this funding initiative to help groups in the community support people who are hosting refugees.
To get involved, follow the five steps below as part of the ‘30 day challenge’ to set up your Community Support Group and access funding.
The steps include free online training and resources to support your group, hosts, and displaced families or individuals.
The resources were developed from the collective experience and expertise within Ireland’s Community Sponsorship Programme for Refugees and are based on feedback from people hosting refugees, as well as from people who have resettled in Ireland.

Absolutely amazing!
We aimed to highlight the plight of many displaced Ukrainian people being moved from College accommodation (3000) in August and to encourage people to host. We have exhibited on St. Stephens Green, Swords Castle, County Hall Dun Laoghaire, Lexicon Library and are currently working on Trinity College Dublin and Blanchardstown Library, part of Fingal Co Council Inclusion Week.

St Stephens green Dublin, 2 day exhibition, wonderful response. A family approached our Ukrainian photographer & said as a result of seeing our images, they had received accommodation with an Irish jist family. Success on first outing, praying for many more matches & support for hosting families too.
As discussed with Leah on call tonight, we will exhibit this photographic collection in as many places as possible to 1. Highlight the continuation of the War in Ukraine, 2. to encourage families to host, urgently, as many are leaving college accommodation as students return for studies.
We have a slot reserved 27/28 August on St Stephens Green to exhibit and plan (with funding) to have another set of images to give to Helping Irish Hosts who embark on a roadshow in Maynooth next Thursday. We will give the images for the roadshow as soon as they are ready week of 20th Aug, all being well. Funding is needed for literature to distribute at these events and printing/mounting of images. Thank you. Sharon Burrell (Sample of image for exhibition, please do not publish, thank you.)
