First Lego League leads to play of all types....our youths loved playing with life sized games.
Our DCC First LEGO League meets at two sites, weekly. These amazing youths are finding creative ways of using lego in our STEAM labs, in our classrooms, as math quizes and the sky is the limit for our young LEGO explorers.
It is fascinating how two groups can take one concept in so many different directions - creativity abounds!
Designing large LEGO projects, our after school group makes furniture and life sized structures. This is such a tremendous asset to our future builders and designers, thanks to the ChangeX funding for our DCC First LEGO League! Inspiring our youths to think outside the 'blocks'.
We had a great kick-off meeting and opportunity to define our action plan.
Dysart Community Center's COVID-19 Safety plan includes face masks at all times, temperature checks, social distancing, suface cleaning, ventilation, hand washing and following current CDC guidelines.
Our funding will be used to increase the ability for under-privileged youths to have access to lego materials and design ideas, supporting their ability to build, dream and implement innovative designs. Our school / community benefits from involving all children in lego design in and out of our STEAM lab. Our FIRST LEGO LEAGUE helps to build back socialization skills lost during COVID-19. Kids work as teams to problem solve and dream their ideas. Our older youth help the younger youth to create.
