Welcome to the Grace Park CycleBus Community! The Cyclebus initiative is about giving primary school children the opportunity to cycle to school in a safe, healthy, social, and enjoyable environment. It’s about community involvement where parents, grandparents, teachers, and volunteers all create the conditions for this to happen. Help us cut pollution and traffic congestion around schools. Together we can create safe and healthy environments in our neighbourhood, while also empowering children to become responsible and active. We hope to share the freedom and joy of cycling with more children and to inspire a lifelong love of cycling. Thanks for joining!

Can I get some opinions on the stretch from Griffith avenue down Gracepark road to Gracepark terrace. Normally the two younger ones go on the(wide) pavement here, with me and Cian on the road. Tomorrow we will do the same, but in future I'm wondering whether it would be better to fully take the road after crossing onto Gracepark from Griffith Avenue..
Today was the first time my son cycled to school. As our normal route is along Richmond Rd I thought we would never get to the point where he could cycle himself. So thanks to everyone involved in setting up this initiative.
Wondering how best to join the Cycle Bus along the way?
Follow these handy steps:
1. Ring your bell, wave and say “Hello! We’d like to join the bus!”
2. The lead marshal will greet you and invite you to join at the rear of the bus.
3. Wait for the rear marshal’s signal that it is safe to join.
4. Join the back of the bus IN FRONT OF THE REAR MARSHAL. The rear marshal remains at
the back of the bus.
5. Stay in your position. Don’t overtake.
6. Have fun cycling to school!
What a morning! The sun shone! 13 children and their grown ups joined us this morning for a really fun cycle to school. We're meeting every day in May at Fairview Green. You can meet us there or join us along the way.
Hi everyone,
We're excited to be starting our cyclebus trial tomorrow morning! Come along and join us. We're leaving at 8:10 from Fairview Green and following the route below. If you like, you can join us along the way. Just ring your bell and give us a wave, then join in at the back. One of the marshalls will be able to guide you.
This morning we did our first group cycle to school to check out the route and it went really well! We even had passersby cheering us on! We're putting final plans in place to start the Marino trial next week.
Do you live in the area? Would you like to volunteer with us? If you are a confident cyclist and would like to help us marshall our new cyclebus please get in touch.
I think I'd cross at the pedestrian lights here as then you'll have a headstart maybe because traffic stops in all directions I think? I think either option is fine. The road is narrow there though and that footpath is quiet so don't see any reason not to stick to what you're doing. Depends on how many more people join too I guess.
