As mentioned in the messages I sent out yesterday I think we need a meeting to finalize the logistical details for Saturday’s Shop and Drop. I hope you know all by now we’ve organised our first action for this Saturday. It’s a Shop and Drop to highlight unsustainable plastic use in cork (and beyond) and demand supermarkets take 6 practical actions (outlined in a letter sent to each location). There are 4 locations (Dunnes in Ballyvolane and Blackpool and SuperValu in Glanmire and Tower).
Unfortunately I have a meeting in Dublin on Saturday and won’t be able to be there on the day.
Myself and Deirdre (one of our members) we’re talking and she rightly suggested that It would be great to have a few principal facilitators at the shops on the day as then the shops would be less likely to dismiss us and it would also help empower and encourage people to take part.
Organising this will be the main issue discussed in the meeting.
We might also touch on how to increase awareness between now and Saturday and on the day too (do we need t-shirts signs etc)
