We will need your full name and a phone number as these need to be supplied to Airfield.
Hi everyone - we have had good news from Airfield! Unfortunately numbers will be limited so please email [email protected] by 1pm tomorrow Friday 11th before 1pm if you are interested in attending. Hello everyone and a particular warm welcome to the new members of the Group.
Our March GIY Dundrum meeting will be on Saturday next, April 10th at 10.30 via Zoom. We had hoped that it would be possible to meet in person this month but unfortunately that is not the case. However, we have been delighted with the response to the Zoom meetings so we hope you will join us again.
As usual we would welcome photographs as these are great for starting conversations and the recent cold weather will probably have made lots of people very creative in finding solutions to keep seedlings and young plants frost free. Please share your solutions with us! For security reasons we only share the Zoom link for our meeting with individuals who are interested in taking part.
Please email [email protected] if you would like to be part of the meeting and we will send you the Zoom link. If you have never used Zoom before don't be put off, it is quite easy to set up on phones, laptops and tablets.Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Hello everyone and a particular warm welcome to the new members of the Group. Our March GIY Dundrum meeting will be on Saturday next, March 13th at 10.30 via Zoom. If you are interested and available please also put March 20th in your diary when we have been offered space in the Farmers' Market in Airfield.
We had hoped that it would be possible to meet in person this month but unfortunately that is not the case. However, we have been delighted with the response to the Zoom meetings so we hope you will join us again.
Since our February meeting we have been following up on some of your suggestions. We hope to spend the first part of the meeting on Saturday talking about the organisation of the GIY Dundrum group and in particular how we might adopt a formal constitution. This has many advantages including allowing us to become eligible for DLR CoCo small grants.
The second part of the meeting will be all about spring and planting our fruit and vegetables. As usual we would welcome photographs as these are great for starting conversations.
For security reasons we only share the Zoom link for our meeting with individuals who are interested in taking part. Please email [email protected] if you would like to be part of the meeting and we will send you the Zoom link. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!
We were delighted to have so many of you at our February meeting and are very grateful to John O'Toole from Airfield for joining us. We are continuing to liaise with the team in Airfield to get a little more information on what the various volunteering opportunities are and how we could go about arranging a stall in the Farmers' Market. As soon as we have a little more information we will get back in touch and make use of the questionnaire that Pauline has drawn up.
Our next GIY Dundrum meeting will be on March 13 and unfortunately because Level 5 restrictions will still apply we fully expect that it will be another Zoom meeting. However, we will be in touch again next week with more details.
Hello everyone and a particular warm welcome to the new members of the Group. Our February GIY Dundrum meeting will be on Saturday next, February 13th at 10.30 via Zoom. The first part of our meeting will have a short presentation from John O'Toole who is Director of Operations in Airfield House. He is going to tell us about Airfield's ambitions for the future and how we can be involved. Then we will have some time to talk about our own gardens and our plans for the spring. As usual your photos are very welcome as they are a great starting point for discussion and it is great to get advice and suggestions.

Has anyone tried to grow vegetables in winter using straw bales to insulate them? With a glass door or windows on top to get as much warmth from the sun as possible.
It is something I would like to try so if anyone has any tips or experience please let me know. Including what vegetables I should try!
Thanks,
Geraldine
Our monthly October meeting will be online via Zoom (October 10th, 10.30am). The idea is to share our experiences of vegetable/fruit growing successes and failures so that we can learn from one another's experiences. If you would like to take part in the meeting please email: [email protected] to confirm your interest and you will be sent a link before the meeting. If you have any photos of your vegetables or fruit that you would be willing to share with the group please send them too and we can show them during the meeting. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.
