Next Tues 21 February 2017 : GIY Fermoy meet on the 3rd Tues of each month our next meeting: February 21st 2017 at Elbow Lane Inn Fermoy at 8pm and ALL are welcome Our visiting speaker is Madeline McKeever of 'Brown Envelope Seeds' West Cork "The talk will be on how to plan your garden, with a view to saving some of your own seed, and about how the seeds you choose will determine the type of crop you harvest and how important finding the right varieties for your area.
Madeline will describe the principles of seed saving and give some examples of the easier ones to harvest and also talk about how to clean, store and test them Madeline is happy to adapt to what people are interested in, and any suggestions would be welcome.

Tuesday 17th Jan.2017 we welcomed and so much enjoyed Chris Troy who has an extensive experience with apple growing, care, harvesting and storage.etc. Chris gave us a very informative talk about Apple Growing and answered all the questions and meeting was well attended. We all enjoyed apple juice tasting also which Chirs kindly supplied..
Our next meeting Tues Feb 21st Madeline McKeever of Brown Envelope Seeds will talk about Seeds and will have an extensive supplu of organilally grown on her farn in Church Cross near Skibberene Tues 21st Feb 2017 at 8pm

We are a sharing group and acknowledge we all have information to share if we wish to do so. If you have some growing skills to share with us we would appreciate your help.
We are grateful for the voluntary help we have but yes indeed we would like more volunteers to share or to rotate our group tasks and / or share their experience.
