I will begin to order the merchandise between June and July. We will start our projects in August when the school year begins. Our team will meet every six weeks to discuss how the children interact with the legos and we will plan meaningful provocations so the children can discover different ways to build and apply critical thinking.
Our budget will be divided into three parts- 450 for assorted legos appropriate for four and five-year-olds, 200 for different kinds of magnetic tiles, and 400 dollars for art materials so that they can transfer their buildings and structures onto paper. With these materials, the kids can plan their structures ahead and build their projects finalizing their vision by drawing and coloring their final project.
We will be purchasing all of the materials on Amazon meaning that we would not have any shipping or handling charges. This would allow us to use every bit of the grant for the children.
For Covid's safety, we will be disinfecting the materials consistently and following the guidelines and regulations of our program.
We will be impacting 22 kids per school year helping them to create spatial skills and giving them the opportunity to build and develop critical thinking by building structures and unleashing their imagination.
The location of my projection will be held in my classroom at Sandpiper Elementary School and all the necessary permits and authorization have been approved.
