It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to The GreenPlan.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life and wellbeing on Earth for present and future generations by empowering your community to tackle climate change.
I often think of the phrase ‘the power of one’ and I think of how many times people have thought to themselves ‘what can I do’ or ‘can I make a difference’. The GreenPlan on ChangeX is a terrific opportunity for the individual to put a team together and for that team to take relatively easy actions that all join up to reduce emissions. The more communities that join up, the faster we can see real measurable impact and results.
I will be keeping in touch with all The GreenPlan Communities on ChangeX – so look out for regular updates.

Recycled 3 black bags full of old clothes. Here is a photo of some of them!
Took the train for some work events recently to save on using the car, and travelled 1,246km!
Enniscorthy to Dublin
Dublin to Limerick
Enniscorthy to Belfast
Just a reminder of all the activities. Please remember to post photos of any public transport journeys/car free days, clothes recycling, battery recycling, etc. you’re doing.

Thanks Jono, but I’ve got toilets with the short flush buttons, so they’re not suitable. If no one else takes it I could encourage my mother to adopt a water hippo. She always wanted a house pet!
Does anyone want a water hippo?
Car boot packed for trip to recycling bins. 22 plastic bottles @ 20g each = 440g of plastic & 52 cans @ 16g each = 832g of aluminium recycled from litter collected on my daily walks. I don’t have enough hands sometimes!
The sooner that Deposit Return Scheme comes in the better. Then there won’t be a can found on the roads. Right? 🙄😵💫
Dearbhla - we will be loaded in 2024 when the deposit return scheme comes in 🤣😃🤣
We can add 8 to that total - Marie you have motivated me to go through my bag and recycle 4 cans and 4 plastic bottles!
If anyone wants a spare water hippo please message me. I'm not brave enough to install the 2nd one 😂
Well done Jono. Will add those to the total too. Great to see this litter pick recycling catching on!! Recycling social influencers!
😔
Cheers! I got 18 after I left you. On the ten min walk home ☹
Hi all. A few more cans recycled from a litterpick this morning.
38 in total.
Do I post here? Hope that's the correct way to do it 😊 or is there a certain item/activity every week?
Thanks
Marie
Great. Thanks!
Well done Marie! 38 cans x 16g per can = 608g. I’ll add that to our running total. It’s great to see all that aluminium waste recycled! #everycancounts You can do any of the activities at any stage. I’ll repost the activity list so you can see the options.
Fair play Marie! As far as I know you can do whatever tasks you like!!
Just a little encouragement (incentive) to keep going with all 10 activities & to keep encouraging people to join this group.
Great to see. I've started tagging them in our weekly posts on social media!!!
Just to note thst I've updated Tracy by email on our progress and included the photos people have uploaded. I'm happy to keep Tracy updated if that helps everyone.
Hi all 2 X water hippos installed. Lessons learned. Old ballcocks are very temperamental and can break easily 😭
Round Trip of 245km avoided!
Today’s litter pick with Enniscorthy Tidy Towns, with Eimear & we gathered recyclables (16 glass bottles, 45 aluminium cans (720g) & 34 plastic bottles (680g). I recycled the glass & cans at the bottle bank on Island Road & recycled the plastic at home. The hardest part is taking the selfies!
Litter from Roadside clean - gathered, washed, squashed & recycled: 11 plastic bottles @20g ea. = 220g, 27 aluminium cans @16g ea. = 432g.
7 items of clothing recycled.
Round trip to Dublin Airport 20/23 April saved 296km round trip in a car
Enniscorthy Library has a lovely selection of free events on biodiversity / environmental / nature topics for adults & families on 4, 6, 11 May.
I'd say 40 items.
Brilliant Dervla. Can you give a rough estimate of how many items of clothing in total? We get 10 points for every 21 garments recycled.
