Resource Checklist

Time

Up to an hour long training session with adults over zoom. Following this it is best to have Kitcamp out as a free resource on an at least weekly basis. The more Kitcamp is played with, the more the imagination builds!

Apply for funding:

If ChangeX have an active fund in your area be sure to apply and work through the 30-day challenge! Once you successfully complete the challenge, you'll have access to:

- Funding to cover any receiving expenses on your end, or to put towards additional props to enhance your Kitcamp activation

Watch our video and share within your setting!

You’ll want to get buy-in from leaders in your setting to ensure you have everyone on board.  You don't want your new kit to sit in the bags  - it wants to be out and played with from the get-go! Tell them all about us. Any questions, get in touch.

Browse our toolkits!

Our toolkits provide a range of stimuli to help you get thinking creatively - find them here: https://iamkitcamp.com/resources/toolkits/

Once your delivery has arrived open the small box and read the instruction guide. Then, get the children to help you unpack. The boxes are just as much fun and this gets them super excited about what's inside!

Talk together about the potential and have them explore how to connect panels together.

Check your instruction manual before anyone climbs on!

Sign in to your pre booked short training session.

Allocate your Kitcamp play leader(s).

This can be a group of children with a key adult.  It will be the adult's responsibilty to make sure all the plugs and straps are collected in at the end of a session and to ensure safety guidelines are adhered to.  We love risky play but to keep within guidlines children can only climb one level high on their builds.

You will want your nominated adult to be a person who fully embraces child led play and will be making sure Kitcamp is out of the bags and being used wherever possible!

Download our toolkits for themed ideas on how to incorporate it into your topics and roleplay spaces: https://iamkitcamp.com/resources/toolkits/

Get creative!

Get out the loose parts, fabrics, whiteboard pens and go for it!

Embed Kitcamp into your daily provision or, if you are a community centre, have it out for regular play sessions.

When used regularly the play opportunities change and develop.  We find children move from being 'all about the build' to pouring their imaginations into the creations they have made. Language, role play and collaborative play become prominent.

Share your photos with us online and join our online communities. Or just email us with great quotes from the children! We'd love to see how we can support you further, as well as any other schools you think could benefit from a similar experience.
