A new Digital Hub was launched in Tipperary Town to cater for remote working and start up businesses. Developed by Jobs4Tipp at the Tipperary Technology Park, Tipperary Town, it offers full services desk spaces with modern office facilities including high speed broadband connectivity and printing.

With many companies now allowing employees work close to their home rather than commuting long distances, the Hub is ideally set up to cater for this cohort of workers in the vicinity of Tipperary town.

Thank you to everyone from Grow Remote who came to our event at hosted by Deputy Anne Rabbitte at Portumna Castle on Saturday to announce details of an innovative new digital app imagined, designed and created by Boon Digital Agency in Galway city. The app is already live in 7 towns in Ireland and the Galway city app will go live this week.

The Apps make it easier for locals and tourists alike to discover what is happening in their locality. Find attractions, great spots to eat and stay, find out what’s happening and interact with your town like never before. Accommodation, Food & Drink, Lifestyle, Shopping, Lodging, Attractions, Offers, Events, Self-Guided Tours, Hikes & Trails, Seated Ticketing, Payment Integration and Active Retirement.

Deputy Rabbitte outlined her vision for the app to both promote and connect the towns and surrounding areas in East Galway, namely Portumna, Loughrea, Ballinasloe, Gort, Athenry and Tuam. She called for a formal expressions of interest from each town which will form part of the existing application already submitted to Galway Rural Development for Leader Funding.

Present at the meeting from the East Galway towns included Jim McClearn, Cathaoirleach, Councillor Ivan Canning, Councillor Shelley Herterich Quinn, Councillor Martina Kinane, and Councillor Joe Sheridan.

I just love the subconscious and deep dark recesses of the mind. Just a gentle reminder that our event down at the castle takes place this morning at 11.00am.

Directions: when you enter the main castle gates, do not turn right to the Castle, but continue along the road until you come to the Friary on your right. You will see a sign for Ca to Ca Tearooms. There is not a lot of parking so you may be better off parking at the castle and walking to tearooms or parking up town. Looking forward to meeting you all there. Over the course of the last year or so, Google started adding more job search features to its search engine. Today, it’s expanding this program by also making it easier to find work-from-home jobs.

Typically, when you search for a job like that, chances are you’ll be bombarded with a bunch of low-quality or even potentially malicious sites. Now, when you search for a job in Google Search using a query like “customer support jobs,” you’ll be able to set the location to “work from home” to find remote and telecommute jobs.
