In addition to being awarded funding, every applicant that applies to start or expand an idea in their community will receive a range of supports including:

• A 5 Step Guide for more information about what the project entails


• Additional resources


• Support from Substantial Classrooms


• Online training through SubSchool

This opportunity to start a SubClub is open to anyone in the US who is passionate about substitute teaching and meets the following criteria:

• Hold or be eligible for a sub permit including a clear background check and meeting state determined educational criteria. 


• Be willing to recruit a intergenerational group of active or ready-to-start substitute teachers.


• Commitment to serve their community as a substitute teacher and to the responsibilities of organizing and facilitating SubClub meetings.

There is funding available to help create intergenerational SubClubs across the United States. Each eligible applicant who successfully completes a 30 Day Challenge and an Impact Challenge will receive funding to help get their selected project off the ground.
