Let Grow Play Club went very well, we marketed it through the local community where a group of children designed a poster and we constructed a leaflet that was printed and delivered to 300 houses. we also got a live interview on a local radio station that helped us advertise. on the day we had two photographers come along one free lancer for Facebook and another a newspaper who later done a feature in the newspaper.
lots of the local community showed up on the day with children of all ages, parents commented how nice it was to have an event for all ages in one area. we had various activities the most popular were the dressing up (we had got most of this from charity shops) the children really enjoyed it. The loose parts/arts and crafts were well used giving the children the opportunity to freely choose what they would like. we had resources from our local library which were magnetic pieces the children enjoyed many different ways of using these to construct. The babies really enjoyed the sensory Play which was different materials, paint, water, cars, treasure baskets. A very successful day was had from children, parents and volunteers.
Fantastic event all went to plan
The funding was used for resource's to be purchased. Arts & Crafts, loose parts, sports equipment. local families came along discussing how nice it was to see children out and playing using natural resources and loose parts, children led their own play.
