Seed Programs is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was founded in 1998 by an American seed company professional. He saw that large quantities of high-quality vegetable seed were being discarded each year due to overproduction or small decreases in germination rate. He knew that communities and families around the world struggle to access quality seed due to financial and geographic constraints. Seed Programs aims to give that seed to organizations running gardening programs to improve food literacy, reduce hunger, and encourage environmental learning.
