An excellent volunteer induction - thanks Marty - we are now waiting for the community cafe do be given the go ahead by the county council to open so that we can set our opening date!
Is there anyone who missed Monday's meeting, who could volunteer for a session, am (approx 9.30-10.30ish) or pm (3-4ish) Tuesday to Saturday. We're trying to make it one shift per week with others available to call on if unable to make it. The current rota I'm devising is rather light for Friday and Saturday especially.
That's great to hear, Mel. I believe you should do this course. I'll ask Anne Draper to send you the link. There will be another induction but I don't think a date has been set yet.
oh also will there be another induction date?

Induction for volunteers on Sat 5th June at 3pm ok for everyone?
Ah it is half term isn't it... I'm sure there will be a rerun... It is in the community cafe at the Old Chapel on Lower Frog St, where we are having the community fridge.
where will this be please?
in my diary so ok for now
The fridge is nearly ready to open - we have a temporary fridge freezer to keep us going until the ones from Hubbub turn up, and we have trained our volunteers and bought signs. The Community Edible garden is looking great, we have planted lots of veg that people have given to us, and have bought some trowels and signs. The projects are well underway and will support each other - the grant funding has definitely contributed to our ability to get a community fridge started in Tenby , and will ensure its success in the future, giving us a fund to ensure the fridge survives and to help other related projects to be undertaken.
I found a second hand fridge freezer for £60 on Nextdoor so that will hopefully mean we can get started sooner, while we wait for the reconditioned commercial ones to turn up!
Ian at the community café today said that they have a food cooler that they won't need in their café and that we could have it for the fridge. I suppose that is ok?
They are hoping to open by the end of may so we will aim for June 4th. Hopefully everyone will complete their level 2 by then and we can have a rota of volunteers ready to go....
Something like that Next time I am there I'll take photos!
Not sure what a cooler is? Needs to Demonstrably operate below 5c is it an open decked display chiller like you might get cans of come from in a newsagent?
Please can I check who has now completed the level 2 food safety training.
Hi, I have now, yes.
I have. - and yes, I will
I have completed mine
The free fridge and freezer should turn up within the next 6 weeks, apparently.
Can I just remind everyone who has been enrolled on the online food safety level 2 course that you need to log on and commence to the course as both the password and completion are time limited.
Thanks Marty
Hi Hannah. That should be fine.
Oh dear! Was intending to do it on Friday or the weekend - will that be too late?
How about these for aims of Tenby Connects?
To develop projects with the aim of encouraging the local community to become involved and to work together to foster community pride.
These will include an accessible community garden, open to all; a community fridge; and other projects chosen by the community.
To build community and social capacity – helping the community to share knowledge, skills and ideas.
To create environmental space to be shared by all, and to encourage co-operation, integration and unity in the community, with the aim of building community resilience.
I have printed out a copy of the Tenby Connects constitution so that a few of us can sign in and then we are set until we decide to have our first AGM, which has to take place within 12 months of us signing it.
Excellent!
yes, I like it
Hope you have all found your online food hygiene training ok - it would be great to be ready to open the fridge whenever that becomes possible...
Completed it this evening. Easy for me as I've done it so many times. however I'm surprised there's not a lower level that doesn't involve food prep, cooking, cooling, reheating etc as none of us need this, but I've looked and there doesn't seem to be one.
I'm not aware of any training, have I missed it ?
Hi Marty or anyone else who can help, I can't find the link for food and hygiene, I think I may have deleted it in error. Can I have the link please to do my certificate Many thanks and sorry to be a pain Anne Hughes [email protected]
