I know that I have immigrant and refugee neighbors but I don't know how to meet them! Our family spent some time abroad so we have some insight in how it is to be in a new place. We would love to open our home to host a family for dinner and hopefully a lasting friendship.
I just saw the piece from MPR. I resonated because my husband is also from Brazil and also had trouble connecting to people in Minneapolis when he first came. We would love to host to help others feel welcomed here. We can host a bigger group.
We live in Plymouth, have 4 children (ages 2-8) and are very flexible. We'd love to host a large family. Would be happy to provide transportation too. Lots of hosts here, where do we find guests?
Hi Christi, how wonderful! What about just walking over and introducing yourself? Inviting them over and saying you are part of this initiative to bring communities together! I just think it would be wonderful to have neighbors connect!!! It certainly would provide the best opportunity to build a lasting connection.... Will look forward to hearing from you and how it went. Be brave!
