It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to The GreenPlan.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life and wellbeing on Earth for present and future generations by empowering your community to tackle climate change.
I often think of the phrase ‘the power of one’ and I think of how many times people have thought to themselves ‘what can I do’ or ‘can I make a difference’. The GreenPlan on ChangeX is a terrific opportunity for the individual to put a team together and for that team to take relatively easy actions that all join up to reduce emissions. The more communities that join up, the faster we can see real measurable impact and results.
I will be keeping in touch with all The GreenPlan Communities on ChangeX – so look out for regular updates.

Green Plan activities summary sheet to date 23/4/2023
Hi all. This link has a summary of all our Green Plan activities to date. It’d be great to get a few more activities logged from everyone before our AGM on Wednesday 26 April.
Round trip to Dublin on the train yesterday saved 289km round trip in a car.
Wildflower area added to our communal greenspace in the estate!! Supervised by our friendly little robin. 10.5m2 seeded and cordoned off, can't wait to see what pops up!!
At the Cherryorchard Spring Clean yesterday we collected 7kg of cans and 5kg of plastic bottles (plus 184 glass bottles/jars) - lot of fly tipping in the undergrowth
Can everyone be sure to include themselves in their picture of their completed activity when posting to the feed? This will ensure we meet all the requirements set out by The Greenplan. And a great opportunity to show off all your lovely faces 😊
Two textile items recycled / repurposed ( 1 bed sheet reused as a car boot protector for mucky sports equipment & 1 cotton top cut into rags for boot polishing)
Home cleaning spray (3 parts water, 1 part vinegar, 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda, essence of choice e.,g. Peppermint)
Cleared 25m2 & planted Irish native wildflower seeds. Gardener’s World wouldn’t consider this “cleared”, but wildflowers have to rough it a bit right? So that’s another Biodiversity theme activity complete & a score of 10 points. PS the seeds are native Irish & from Faerly, which is run by Enniscorthy native James Byrne of Byrne’s Bookshop.
9 aluminium cans & 7 plastic bottles collected at today’s litter pick, washed, squashed & recycled. I won’t complain that the promenade loop was that clean we collected so little! (but it's not a huge help for our activity target - 140g plastic & 144g aluminium.)
Thanks for the tip off Noreen. I’ve just posted that to the Sustainable Enniscorthy Facebook page. Enniscorthy library has a nice few environmental talks coming up too for adults & families.
