We are very excited to bring a new place to play in Quincy, Washington! Our project will be offering space, building toys, and educational resources to young families during the cold winter months. Quincy Valley School will be offering their gym and toys they have already collected, such as Imagination Playground construction kits. Sara Tuttle and Jenn Lerma will be available for much of the open gym time to explain and show the value of play in a child's development. Kylie Evens and Marci Lindimeier will help with the choosing of new and exciting toys and manipulatives, create art projects to have available for kids to take home or create as they play, and help keep the space clean and organized. Amy Evens will take care of the financial and advertising needs.
Our next steps are to create posters and hang them up throughout town, order toys and storage solutions, make a Facebook post, find other avenues - including word of mouth-to advertise throughout our community.
We will open the gym starting January 15th. It will be from 9:00-10:30 in the morning. We will start with one day a week and then build as our community builds.
Our goal is to have a place young families can congregate, children (and adults) can play, kids can learn to work together, parents can learn about growth and development, and everyone can stay warm while the temperatures are below freezing outside.
