Julianstown Tidy Towns is made up of volunteers from our community and was set up to try and revitalize our village. Over the past 14 years we have made great strides in improving our lot and also working closely with our local council. We now have a Village Design Statement, Tousim Feasibility Study, Biodiversity Plan, and Woodland Management Plan for our wee village. We have a great community which supports our events and helps out as and when the need arises. We have a beautiful 3 acre garden which has native woodland area, lots of plants and bushes, orchard, pond, seating areas with patios. We hold Summer and Halloween Festivals each year and also have Santa and Elves in December. We grow veg, herbs, soft fruit bushes and have some unusual plants and trees growing e.g. Mulberry Bush, Medlar and Walnut trees. There is lots of interest in the garden and we try and attract as many insects as possible. Recently, we have a Buzzard making his home on top of one of our garden sheds (a truly magnificent sight!), and we also have a small flock of Yellowhammers.
