At a time when there's a greater need for inclusion and integration in our communities than ever before, we're excited to help you get involved in Welcome In - a community based project where older volunteers welcome immigrants to the community through conversational English classes. It you'd like to start or join a class in Minnesota, you can find all the information and support you need right here.

Friends who love welcoming diversity of cultures into your lives, please take note! You are invited to participate in the launch of Northfield's 'Welcome In' gatherings for immigrants. Please read this post and note the free training on June 19 & 20. Contact me if your heart calls.
We will be trained to host 'Welcome In' groups by International Coordinator, Liam Carey, on June 19 & 20 at St. Thomas in St. Paul. Times are yet to be confirmed. The training is free.
We have an opportunity in Northfield to welcome immigrants by socializing in English and teaching practical skills to navigate our culture. Minnesota is the 1st state to extend Change X's mission!
Hi Cathy. I'm so happy that you want to be involved! You can be involved without attending the training, but we're hoping to get as many to the training as possible. The organization is new to the US and we still have technical/web issues to work out. I'm not savvy with those things. I may be best to stay in touch through private message on Facebook or by phone. My number is 507-301-9601. I look forward to meeting you, Cathy!
Hi Paula, I'm interested! I would appreciate more information. I'm not sure I'll be able to make the training on June 19-20--does that mean I can't join? Also, what qualifies as "older" volunteers? Also, I don't speak Spanish, fyi. I am an elementary teacher, so I have time this summer for volunteering. Thank you!
