Close to a thousand young athletes contested the Clare Community Games Athletics Finals in Lee's Road, Ennis on Sunday, 12th of June. Tulla was represented by a team of over 23 young athletes many competing at their first county athletics final. There were many fine performances from the team. Highlights from the day included a semi final for our U10 Mixed Relay Team of Evie Quinn, Lisa Nicholas, Matthew Nolan and Ryan Curtis. Our U8 girls continued to show great promise with Liadan Coleman and Ada McMahon qualifying for the U8 60M final where they narrowly missed out on medals while Zoe Quinn was 6th in the U8 80M final. Eoin Donnellan finished in 3rd place in the boys U14 Javelin in a close contest. The day came to a close in spectacular fashion when Lisa Nicholas won the U10 60M Hurdles with a storming run. Lisa goes on to represent Clare at the National Community Games in Athlone on the weekend of 20th/21st August. Well done to all our athletes who did us proud. Thanks to all the parents and guardians for their support, especially Alison Donovan and Terri Quinn for the colourful batons which they made for the parade.
