Coding Pirates Game Jam is a competition where children and young people, aged 10-17, compete over 24 hours to develop and code the coolest game. The children work in teams to develop the games. Which means that it is a team effort where the children's abilities in collaboration, creativity, design development, programming and imagination come into play.
The event is held at different locations in Denmark at the same time.

Without the funding from ChangeX we would not be able to have such awesome meetings to plan the event with volunteers. Those meetings allowed us to have a bigger outreach to invite as many kids as we got. Over 80 kids and 20 adult volunteers attended the event. The kids were divided into groups of up to 5 and then spent 24 hours brainstorming, developing, and realizing their game ideas. Additionally, to keep spirits high, we had a robot dog walking around for an hour or so, and after Dokk1 closed for the public, we made cotton candy for the kids. The morning after, we had three judges from the industry come and choose the winner in each of our five prize categories. Overall, we had an amazing event with many happy kids who definitely learned something about working under pressure with both friends and people they haven't met before, while having fun with tech.
